Yesterday, Evie and Gavin had their first day of art class! It is through the Naperville Park District so it's nice and close. The kids are all between 20 and 36 months, and there are 8 of them enrolled. You can imagine the chaos, especially because we started out with PAINT!
The teacher put little bowls of paint on the tables, handed out brushes, and immediately (and simultaneously) Evie stuck her entire hand in the yellow paint and Gavin knocked the red paint onto the floor. Luckily the other moms were all really nice, and one of them helped me clean up the floor. One of Gavin's hands had red paint on it, and of course right then he rubbed his nose, so he had a nice little Rudolph nose for awhile. Legendary twins, legendary messes!
I helped Evie paint her background, then she decided she was done. Gavin figured out that tapping his brush on the paint bowl made a neat sound, and also made splatters on his paper, Evie's paper, her hair, and her face! Thank goodness the paint was washable and came right out.
Here is Evie's masterpiece:
And here is Gavin's:
I can't wait to see what we get to do next week!
