Sharon has carried Gavin and Evie for 38 weeks (just two weeks shy of a full term pregnancy) which is remarkable as twins usually come almost a month early, or more. Another couple in our twins class delivered at 25 weeks(!!). It was important for Sharon to carry the twins as long as possible because of Evie's heart defect. The lungs are one of the last organs to develop, and so it was critical that Evie's lungs continue to develop in utero to ensure her best chances during her post-delivery surgical procedures.
Here's a pic of Sharon at the neonatologist's office at week 36. She's "all baby"!
