Daddy Buys Toys & Gets Tackled

Daddy got a new toy for the kids: the Leap Frog Learn & Groove table. So far it's a big hit! Gavin can pull himself up to play with it, and we just stand Evie in front of it and she can balance herself (sort of).

Evie contines to do really well. Today marks 4 weeks since her surgery! She is becoming very comfortable on her tummy and is eating more of her fruits & veggies than she did before. Yesterday she ate a record 3 ounces of pears and 2 ounces of squash!

I guess tackling Daddy will never get old...

Gavin says "I'll teach you how to pull Daddy's hair and drool on him, Evie!"

So Many Toys...

Evie tried bananas yesterday and liked them! She is definately more inclined to eat new flavors than Gavin is, although she has not liked cereal so far. We are going to try cereal again with her, since they make oatmeal with banana!

"I'm bored....are there any new toys for us?"

Gavin cuddles with Daddy before work this week.

Evie sleeps in a portable crib for now (it's a long story) - it's like a small pack-n-play. She likes to scoot so that her head is pressed against the side or top of the crib, and if you look closely above her right eye, you'll see a criss-cross imprint on her forehead. She wakes up like this all the time! Click onthe picture for a larger view.

The twins have a ton of toys, and what do they like to play with? The lid and the empty bucket from their Bucket of Beads!

Friday Cuteness

Evie tried peaches and likes them!

Gavin sorts through the mail

The kids play on their activity mat. Evie is back to sticking her tongue out - she had been keeping it in her mouth for the last few weeks...

...that tongue again!

Happy to be naked!

I was trying to extend Evie's tummy time by moving her to my chest, but she spat up on me. (Doesn't she look big, though?! What happened to my little 5 pound baby?)

Here are 2 videos of Evie enjoying tummy time, sticking her tongue out, and
babbling a little!

Saturday Silliness

This past weekend the twins got to see some of their family...

Uncle David got a call when he was holding Evie - she tried her hardest to grab that phone!

Then he got another call when he was holding Gavin, who was also quite intrigued with the phone (never mind that the twins each have their own toy cell phones)!

Uncle David let Evie knock over the salt...

"What do you mean, Mom says not to do that?!"

Gavin cuddled with Auntie Di (and later nearly fell asleep in her lap)...

...then they read his favorite book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Uncle Kevin sacrificed some hair as a distraction for Gavin so that I could cut his toenails!

Crawling & Climbing Everywhere

Even though Evie is not crawling yet, she is reaching and grabbing for whatever she can grasp. She has rolled over every day and, on Monday, pushed herself into a sitting position from laying down. When Gavin decides he wants to go somewhere, he just crawls over everything in his path. That includes other people, Evie, pillows, and toys!

Here are the twins grabbing Uncle David:

Gavin Stands Up

This weekend Gavin pulled himself up into a standing position, with his Auntie Di there for moral and physical support! He is already crawling all around the house. Francis is going to Babies R Us tonight to buy a gate for the stairs and this weekend we are going to put latches on the cabinets. Child-proof home, here we come!

After all that hard work , Gavin wanted an iced tea from Starbucks - venti black unsweetened, of course!

He wasn't sure how to hold it at first...

But then he got the hang of it, with some help from Daddy (don't worry folks, he's not really drinkingthrough that straw!)

"Good job on standing up, Gavin! Will you teach me how to do it?"

"Sure, Sis! I'll teach you all my tricks!"

Monday Cuteness

Here are some more cute photos from last week!

"Are your ears clean, Gavin?"

"I don't like when Daddy cleans my ears!"

"All done with the ear-cleaning - OK, I'll smile now!"

"I was trying to crawl out of this bouncy seat, but Mom caught me!"

Evie & Daddy

The other day, Evie decided that Daddy's face was really interesting to explore:

"Any cavities in there?"

"Daddy needs a mint!"

"OK, I'm done playing with your face, Daddy - let's read the paper!"

A Week in the Life

I have sooo many cute pictures to post! The twins were pretty funny this week - here are a few pics and videos:

Evie does some more"naked tummy time"

What else are books for besides chewing on?

Evie has so much to say that she lost her balance (don't worry, she's completely fine)!

Evie gets in a few minutes of batting practice; looks like all those hours of practice with Grandpa Cermak have are paying off! (NCAA scholarship?!)

Evie and Gavin both try to play with the octopus toy. Too bad they don't sell these anymore - Daddy got this one from Ebay!

Gavin & Evie both want to play with the same toy again...

Looks like Gavin got it this time, but they're still best buddies! High five!
