Today we went back to the hospital for Evie's post-op physical. The verdict is that she is doing very well! All the nurses who saw her said she looked great. Her lungs sound clear and her incision is healing nicely. We need to get more calories into her, but Francis and I have resolved the issues we had with her feeding pump, so she should start gaining weight now.
When Dr. Ilbawi saw Evie he said, "How's my girlfriend?" and she gave him a big smile. He is impressed with her progress. She started swinging her NG tube back and forth when we were with him (and hitting Francis in the chest), and I'm glad she was acting just like her old self. We visited the PSHU and all her former nurses fussed over her, and she smiled for all of the other cardiologists.
Here's Uncle Kevin swinging Gavin around today:
Evie was happy to be back from the hospital - we don't have to go back for awhile!
Now for a trip down Memory Lane. The photos below were taken about a year ago, when Evie was recovering from her first surgery. She had an NG tube then, too:
Gavin was rolling all over the place:
The twins still fit in their Bumbo seats:
-Sigh- they used to be so little!

Gret News! Seems that Evie is happy to be at home. I hope you get some rest as well. You are lucky to have so much help from your family. I don't know how we would have gotten through this without our family. The pictures you posted are great! I hear we are sharing the same home nurse! Take care! Joanna
