2nd Birthday Party!

The twins' 2nd birthday is on Thursday, but we had their party yesterday because we just couldn't wait to celebrate! The whole family came over and we had such a great time. Evie and Gavin were a little overwhelmed, but they adapted to all the presents pretty quickly!

Evie woke up from her nap first, so she enjoyed discovering the wrapped gifts by herself:

"Grandpa, this is just a card. Is there anything else here that I can get into?"



"Oooh, a new Princess Ipod!"



This toy is called a "Latches Board," and after Gavin opened it he played with it for about 20 minutes. He didn't want to open anything else right away, so Evie opened all the gifts for awhile.




Evie was a very tidy un-wrapper. She made sure to hand every last little scrap of paper to Uncle Brad:

When Gavin finally opened another gift, it was a Noah's Ark set. He was so impatient to play with it that both Auntie Di and Uncle Kevin worked as fast as they could to get all the animals out!

It's a Mega-Bloks table! Again, Auntie Di helps get it set up ASAP!

More work for Diana and Kevin. This time it's a "Spudtrooper" (Mr. Potato-Head Storm Trooper from Star Wars) that they have to assemble quickly:

Time for cake! Evie didn't throw up like last year, but she still didn't like it. Gavin wouldn't try it, although they both wanted to eat baby carrots.

It's hard to see but Gavin was dipping his carrot in the icing and dragging it around, so it has a glob of frosting on it. Then we just gave them spoons:
