Yesterday the twins had their 21 month physical. Not everyone has a 21 month physical, but their pediatrician wanted to see them because they are still not talking, and they are behind on vaccinations. Gavin is all caught up now, and Evie just needs one more shot to catch up. (Updated stats are to your left.)
I don't know if all doctors do this, but our pediatrician has a lot of "combo" vaccines. For example, the one Gavin got today was actually 5 viruses combined in one shot. I guess it's good to reduce the number of needle sticks, but getting injected with 5 viruses at once seems like a lot to me. Evie was supposed to get this one today, too, but the one she did get was 3 viruses in one, and there was no way I was going to subject her to a total of eight viruses in one day.
Uncle David came along to help out. The kids were not happy to be at the doctor's office. They hated getting weighed, measured, and examined, and of course they hated the shots. Uncle David kept them entertained with his iPhone:
Back at home, the kids took good naps after all the excitement of the morning. When they woke up, they were happy to see that Gramdma Cordes was here. Evie was interested in the animals on Grandma's sleeve:
Time for a story, and then we headed outside to play with the kids' cars:

First, a big hello to you and Fran. It's been a long time! Second, WOW - after reading your blog, you have been so blessed with those adorable kids! I'd love to talk to you more, especially about Evie's heart. One of our daughters had a PDA closure when she was 3, also at Hope. And nurse Gina was there for us when we had our baby last year, and she knew us from the Happening. It was comforting, because that was a 'normal' birth that went very wrong, very quickly. But what a small world, and thank goodness for the love and prayers of your family and friends. We could maybe get together, we also have a zoo membership, as well as one to the Arboretum. Take Care! Chrissy
