Christmas Family Visits 2010

The day after Christmas, Evie woke up with quite an appetite. I guess she needed the calories after all that work opening presents! Here she is munching on a McDonalds hash brown:

We had a fun and busy day planned. First we went to a restaurant near Kenosha, just over the border, to meet up with my aunts and several cousins who live in Wisconsin. We do this every winter. It is so fun to catch up in person, but it always seems to fly by so quickly!

The lunch was during Evie's nap time. She didn't fuss, but she wasn't very social either. She ate some sausage and some bacon.

Unckle David and our cousin, Karen.

Gavin kept asking to leave the restaurant (asking, not yelling, which was a plus in my book). He said he wanted to "eat at home", and then he said he wanted to "go to Annie's house." That was our next stop!

Evie gets one of her inhaled nebulizer treatments at lunchtime, so we had to improvise and do it in the van. Francis has an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter, then we could plug Evie's machine into that:

Then we stopped off at the home of Uncle Mark, Aunt Robin, and Annie and Sam. Gavin adores Annie and followed her everywhere.

He was interested in whatever she was doing; here, she was making a Santa out of some tiny beads:

Gavin just loves phones!

Annie and Sam working on the tiny bead thingys (with me continually reminding Gavin not to tip over all the beads):

Evie stuck close to Francis - she was still a little grumpy. Our visit was brief but lots of fun! Both kids and Francis fell asleep on the way home. Hmm. At least it was a quiet drive!
