So we figured we'd give Evie a chance to see Santa. We got in the line, she took one look at him, and said, "No!" I had a feeling this would happen...either that or we'd get all the way through the line and then she'd burst into tears when it was time to sit with him. It was time to move on to Plan B. Having a Plan B is essential with small children!
Plan B was the carousel, which is always a big hit. In fact, we don't go to the mall very often because when the twins see the carousel, they have to ride it for as many turns as we'll let them.
Evie didn't want to get on an animal, so we sat on this bench.
Gavin loved his purple horse/sea creature:
Evie decided she wanted Grandpa to sit with her, so I sat with Nana:
The kids ended up going around about 6 times. When it was time to leave, Gavin had a very loud tantrum that was heard by the entire food court. Luckily he recovered quickly - a few minutes later, when I took him up and down an escalator he was happy as a clam.
So that was our experience with Santa for 2010. We'll see what happens next year!
