This Sunday, we had a wonderful, impromptu, surprise visit from my cousin Susan, her husband Dennis and son Sean. They live in the Milwaukee swuburbs, but were visiting LegoLand in Schaumburg and were able to drive a bit further south to meet the twins in person!
We were so excited to get together - I had not seen them since their May wedding. Evie and Gavin bonded to them immediately, and they cannot wait to meet their next cousin: Susan's baby, who is due in February!
Diana was already spending the afternoon with us, so that worked out great. She 'fessed up that she didn't know how to play patty-cake, so Evie taught her:
"Now Auntie Di, clap your hands like this, and do it when I do!"
Gavin contemplates knocking over Sean's block tower:
Susan plays with Evie while Gavin looks on:
Evie is drawn to Susan's watch (the twins just love watches and shoelaces!):
Sean tells the twins what they can look forward to at age 7:
Gavin shows Dennis one of his favorite Wii games (favorite to throw on the floor, that is!):
Then Evie joined them at the musical table:
Evie cuddles with Sean:
"Sean, can you show me how to play the Nintendo DS? Mom & Dad say I'm to young, but I think I can do it!"
Gavin needs a "Mommy minute" amidst all the excitement:
Auntie Di fed Evie her veggies:
Then gave her a box-ride:
Here is our happy group of cousins:
What a great afternoon we had! We are so glad that everything fell into place and we got to spend time together!

Oh My Goodness!!! The second picture down of Evie sitting by herself looks JUST LIKE a picture Clare showed me of herself when she was a little girl. :) The resemblence is amazing! She's so beautiful, they both are. You'll need to get that picture scanned and do a side by side of Clare and Evie. They are getting so big!
