Playdate!

Over spring break, we had a playdate with Gavin's good friend from his class last year, Nico.  Since Nico has an August birthday, he went on to kindergarten (all-day) this school year, so he and Gavin don't get to play often.

They loved this Angry Birds game!!!

One of many hugs goodbye!  We can't wait to do it again!

Easter Sunday 2013

Easter started out with Gavin hunting for eggs that the Easter Beagle hid all over our house.  This happened the instant he woke up so I have no pictures of it.  It was pretty early and I hadn't had any caffeine.

Then Grandpa and Nana came over to color eggs.  First, Gavin got to open a new set of kid-size golf clubs. He understands that only the putter can be used inside!

Gavin was very careful with the eggs:

He loved cracking them, but didn't eat them:

Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Cordes' house for dinner:

We found a model of the ocean liner "Olympic" (with special paint to confuse the Germans in WW1) for Uncle David.  Gavin is holding a model of the  "Titanic" :

More ship videos!!

New Animals

Here are Gavin's favorite new stuffed animals:

He named them "Mrs. Snake" and "Mr. Silly Snake."  They've earned a place in his bed.  Thanks Nana and Grandpa!

Ice Skating

Last week we went ice skating at All Seasons rink.  We took a class there last year, but Gavin never wanted to let go of my hand (and the teachers always tried to get him to).  He tells me he still wants to skate, but what he means is he wants to go the the "open skate."  There's no teachers and he keeps his hand firmly in mine!

The lacing takes forever!!

Finally on the ice!!

Ships!

We just may have another ship buff in the family!  It all started last month when Uncle David showed Gavin a video of the German warship "Bismarck."  He tells us about how it battled with British ships before it sank.

We got Gavin a book about ships from World War Two, which he LOVES.

Then we told him a  little about the Titanic, and how Uncle David knows more about it than just about anyone.  So he asked his uncle to come over and teach him about it.

Now he tells me daily about the Titanic's sister ships (the Olympic and the Brittanic).  He remembers details like how many funnels they had and what color they are.  It is SO sweet!!

Dominoes

Nana and Grandpa Cermak brought over their set of dominoes, and Gavin loved it.  He loved the matching as well as making a line and knocking them all down:

Birthday Dinner

We had dinner at Grandpa and Grandma Cordes' house last week for my birthday.  Gavin has just as many racetracks at their house (so it seems)!

He started with the little green track:

And then moved on to one that goes all the way down the stairs:

Then everyone started goofing off with Grandma's cows (what's more fun than that?)

Grandma made a delicious dinner and we all had a great time!!

Pop-Up Pirate

Francis bought a VERY silly game called Pop-Up Pirate.  All you do is stick swords in the barrel until the pirate guy pops up.

Gavin and both grandpas loved it!
