Kittens and Toddlers

On Sunday morning, Uncle David came over to hang out at our house. It had been a while since we had seen him, as we had been sick and then he was sick as well. As usual, Evie and Gavin loved watching videos on his iPhone:




Then after the twins woke up from naps, we went over to David and Brad's house to meet the new kittens. They had never seen children before! Here is Gavin getting his first close-up look at Phineas:

We let Phineas alone for a bit, and Gavin wanted to play with the older cat, Phoebe Jean. But she wasn't in a playful mood either, and hid under a bed upstairs:




Evie sat quietly in the family room and played gently with Phineas. He was OK with her being in his house, but didn't want her to pet him.

So the visit had mixed results. Evie and Gavin were SO excited to see the kittens. When Gavin gets excited, he runs and jumps like a typical three-year-old. Unfortunately, this just scared the cats. After twenty minutes, Gavin said he wanted to go home and Evie said she didn't like the cats. The kittens, however, had warmed up enough to not run out of the room! But the twins had had enough, so we left. We will try another visit in the future.
