Live Blogging the Surgery (Updated 2PM)

Evie's surgical team is probably just about getting ready to start on her. The surgery was scheduled to begin at 11:30AM, but she wasn't taken back for pre-op until 1:00PM. It was remarkable how calm she was, considering that she hadn't had anything to eat for 13 hours and hadn't had a nap since she woke up at 6:30AM. God must have kept her calm!

We arrived at the hospital at 9:30AM, so to pass the time, we wandered around the hallways and stopped at all the nurses' stations. Evie was a rock star everywhere she went and received tons of compliments about how calm she was, and that she wasn't screaming her head off. We saw several other young children, around 3-5 years old, and they all liked waving at Evie as we made our laps (must've walked a mile or more!).

It's 2PM now, and as I mentioned, they're probably getting ready to start. The pre-op takes about an hour. She'll have general anesthesia and a breathing tube, and the surgery is estimated to take 4-6 hours (although it took 6 hours last time). The nurse will give us updates approximately every hour, so we'll post updates when we get them. Here are a few photos from the morning. Thank you to everyone for keeping little Evelyn Rose in their prayers!
