Day 26: Sleepy Head

Evie was very sleepy during my visit today, and she was lethargic when she was awake. Her nurse told me that Evie had been a little agitated during the night and was given a mild sedative (chlorol hydrate), and it was probably still in her system. I think she just needed to sleep half the day away! Luckily she was wide awake later on, when Nana & Grandpa Cermak visited her.

Francis and I are going to have a meeting with the GI specialist, the general surgeon, the nutritionist, and the cardiology staff on Thursday, to discuss her malrotation and the surgery to correct it.



Francis dug out one of his Star Wars toys from the basement for Gavin to play with, and he was quite fascinated! I'm calling it C-3PO, even though it is actually a silver droid from Episode I (*ahem* that would be Protocol Droid TC-14 -Francis) . If anyone wants to get into a discussion of Star Wars trivia, you will meet your match in Francis!

We think Gavin looks like he is giving an acceptance speech here with C-3PO: "I'd like to thank the Academy for this droid..."



When I got home from the hospital, I took Gavin over to Babies R Us to pick out new sippy cups. He held several different styles, and then decided on some "straw" cups and another style that is similar to what he had been using. He couldn't wait to try them out and loved drinking from a straw!
